Parking lot & asphalt measurement
From a single commercial lot to a property portfolio, aerial site context helps estimators organize the area being priced. We document visible pavement and agreed work zones for asphalt, sealcoating and maintenance planning.
Measure the scope before the work.
A clearer definition of the measured work area, with exclusions visible on the same map.
Where it helps
- Paving and sealcoating estimates
- Parking lot maintenance planning
- Commercial property area comparisons
- Driveway and access-lane documentation
Your deliverables
- Annotated aerial overview of work zones
- Estimated area in square feet or square yards
- Visible island, building and landscape exclusions
- Capture date, scale checks and obscured-area notes
Final formats, coverage and review requirements are confirmed in your proposal.
From brief to report
Mark what is included
Review the work boundary and separate pavement from islands, buildings and landscape beds. Agree on whether partial zones need separate totals.
Capture the surface
Schedule for visible pavement where practical. Record areas blocked by vehicles or trees and identify any need for ground measurements.
Prepare the takeoff
Deliver the agreed area schedule and an annotated image so your estimator can review the included and excluded surfaces.
Scope and review requirements
Area measurements do not establish asphalt thickness, subgrade condition, structural performance or a paving material tonnage. Ground evaluation and contractor or engineer review remain necessary for those decisions.
Tell us about the site.
Include the site address, bid plans or a boundary sketch, proposed treatment and required units. Tell us if the lot can be cleared for capture.

Before we fly
Can you estimate asphalt tons from area?
Only as a separately labeled calculation using specified thickness and density. The aerial area alone cannot determine those values or account for excavation and compaction.
Can you count parking spaces?
Visible marked spaces can be included when requested and when imagery is suitable. Covered or unmarked spaces require another source or on-site confirmation.
